Edward Snowden’s Haven app, guardian story started Again.

Haven App: Haven is an open source app that will run on any Android phone, especially cheaper and earlier devices. It works like a monitoring system, using the phones camera, audio recording ability and accelerometer to identify the action and report to a user.

Haven app technobuckets

The idea of the Haven App is to give you a “way to protect your personal space and possessions” without hazarding privacy. The app essentially leverages all the sensors in your device (camera, accelerometer, microphone, etc.) to notify you of any trespassers penetrating your private space. This private space could be your home or a bedroom or even a cupboard.

Haven App is intended to block the so-called “Evil Maid” attack that targets unattended computers. This could be a home or anything. This “evil maid” might infect your PC with spyware, rifle through your records and more. The app will possibly give journalists, activists and the neurotic a cheap tool for administering watch.

Haven project is available on GitHub and is open-source.
